Denali Brewpub

After you've hiked Alaska's big mountains and created many unforgettable memories, you may wish to make a few more at this local microbrewery, which is nestled in the heart of the Upper Susitna Valley, in downtown Talkeetna.

The Brewery's Taproom is at Mile 2 of the Talkeetna Spur Road. You can enjoy the 20+ beers on tap as well as views of their production floor. You may bring your well-behaved four-legged friends on the patio while keeping them on a leash.

The Denali Brewpub is located on Main Street and serves its fresh Denali craft beer, cider, mead or spirits, as well as fantastic made-from-scratch food. You can purchase canned beer, growlers and kegs to go.

Sriracha IPA Chicken Sandwich with their signature Sriracha IPA hot sauce.
The Bachelor, a good portion of house-made reindeer meatloaf served with mashed potatoes and peppercorn gravy.
Drunken Bread Pudding, featuring Denali Spirits whiskey-infused cranberries and vanilla ice cream with whiskey sauce.

You will also find a bunch of unique appetizers, soups and salads on the menu and they also cater to children.

Interesting Facts

What's interesting is that Denali Brewing Company is open year-round which allows for consistent work of their employees and the company has got on a journey to being employee-owned.

They are also very environmentally conscious, running a number of sustainability programs with an emphasis on zero waste, such as recycling or the wastewater treatment program.

The Denali Brewery is also home to Denali Spirits, Alaska Meadery and Alaska Ciderworks.

Delicious. Third-time visit to Talkeetna, a third-time visit to Denali Brewpub. Not your average brewpub fare. I had one of the best chicken, pesto, pasta dishes I have ever eaten and my husband loved his fish. They have a large outdoor seating area which was nice since we were visiting during the Covid pandemic. Everything was clean, employees were masked and they had hand sanitizer on the tables.

Not Your Typical Brewpub Food! Denali Brewpub not only has great local beer but their menu has some real gems. From-scratch gnocchi with bacon bits and a creamy cheese sauce was spectacular. The Cajun rice and lentils with chicken was full of flavor. They had a seafood chowder which we didn't try but if it was as good as everything else, you should order it. Make this place a must-stop!

Amazing food and atmosphere. My husband and I stopped for lunch while visiting the charming town. Enjoyed beer from the local brewer along with Alaskan Cod sandwiches and the most amazing seafood chowder. Loved the cabin/log environment. A must-stop if you're in town.

We were in Alaska in July- it was great to go to Denali Brewpub at the end of the day and have a drink and eat delicious food. The fresh salmon (chef's special) that was served when were there was fabulous. They did an excellent job of social distancing; working to make sure everyone stayed safe. We sat on the deck both days and just enjoyed being there. I highly recommend this restaurant.
